Weldon Pre-School are holding a Cheese and Wine night on Saturday 29th February and Weldon Village Hall.
This event is a fundraiser and all monies will be reinvested back into the running of the Pre-School and fund new resources for the children.
Below are some pictures from the same event which was held in Caldecott by the Treasurer of Weldon Pre School.
6 tickets have now become available.
Included in the line-up of cheese is Vacherin Mont D'Or. Made from the rich, unpasteurised milk of alpine pastures, this cheese has a melting, voluptuous texture. Vacherin Mont D'Or is only made between 15th August and 15th March, when the cows have come down the mountain from their high summer pastures, and their milk is too fatty and not plentiful enough to make whole Comte wheels. The Comte co-operatives then turn their hands to making this truly seasonal cheese.
This version is made by Fromagerie Val d'Usiers, and it is an outstanding example: rich and voluptuous, with a resinous flavour from the spruce bark that encircles it.
If you are liking the sound of this, be quick and snatch those last few tickets up!
