The Weldon British Legion held a service at 11am on Thursday 6th June at the memorial to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D Day landings.
The service was led by the Reverend, Kane Taylor, and was attended by the British Legion as well as the Weldon Parishioners. Kane, as usual, gave a very poignant and positive message in memory of those who selflessly sacrificed their lives for our future.
In the act of remembering, it is hoped that we will always consider the huge cost that was paid by those who lived during any conflict. In remembering the cost that people paid during the war, we will be inspired to look for peaceful resolutions to our political differences, when we can.
We shall remember them.
