Like many businesses and sports clubs, Weldon cricket club is battling with finances. With no player memberships yet this season, the club being closed means the number of family memberships is also lower than normal, leaving the club 60% down on revenue.
To help with fundraising there is hike taking place on Saturday June 13th when four of us are walking from Northamptonshire County Cricket Club to Weldon CC, with the promise of a kebab from The Village Kitchen waiting for us on arrival. It is over 23 miles of pain and a lot of work for a kebab but if you’ve had one you’ll know it’s worth it. Andy Warren, Chairman of Weldon cricket club
The hike will start in Northampton and pass through Kettering where more walkers will meet the group before passing through Geddington and picking up the last of the walkers before continuing on the final leg of the journey to Weldon.
As well as raising much needed funds for the cricket club they intend to donate some of the funds to Marie Curie. A much deserved charity.
So please, if you can spare any money to sponsor these guys it would be so greatly appreciated. We know this is a very difficult time for everybody but your club needs you.
