Last Friday, July 5th, a Gin tasting evening organised by Gordon Brown, held in Weldon Village Hall. With a the event being a sell out it was sure to be a good night! So we asked Gordon, what was the recipe to success.
16 litres of Gin
120 litres of tonic
28kg of ice
Other assorted garnishes including mint, pink grapefruits and hot chillis
Take 96 people from both Weldon and the surrounding areas and add six different gins ranging from the local Warners Distillery in Harrington to one all the way from Bolivia.
Mix with several local guys advising on what to look for in taste and how to best mix them with a variety of tonics and garnishes ranging from lemon to chilli!
Add your own nibbles to complement the drink and there you have it.
A side of raffle and the famous coin rolling game were added for good measure and the evening raised just over £900 which was donated to The Royal British Legion.
Congratulations Gordon on a spectacular evening with a super sum of money to a very worthy cause!
