Q: Who won the legion quiz?

The popular British Legion quiz night was held on Friday October 25th and attracted another, almost sell out crowd, with 113 of 120 tickets being sold. Each quiz is sponsored by a local company or individual and this time thanks go to Kevin Bays of TLC Property in Corby for their sponsorship.

The raffle alone raised a huge £344! The popular prize of the super sized teddy being won, and for the second time, by a Mr C Haggar! We are beginning to think this is a fix or he has some sort of weird bear fetish!...

What we can tell you is there is no fetish, well not for bears anyway, in fact both bears the Haggar family have won they have kindly donated to Rainbows charity.

A Rainbow hospice provides vital care and support to families impacted by their child suffering life-limiting conditions. Support means they can provide end of life care, symptom management, short breaks and respite care. They also support parents and siblings through their bereavements.

The total amount of money raised on the night was a fantastic £876.00! This would not be possible without everyone turning out and supporting the event. It really is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately we don't have the names of the winning team but their captain is pictured below, being presented their prize money by Kevin of TLC property, congratulations whoever you are!. There also appears to be a rather funny looking man trying to get in on the action. If anyone sees him please let him know the home are looking for him!

The next quiz night is booked for March 13th 2020 and as always it is advisable to book your tickets early! These can be purchased from John Starmer on 07788 711753.

This quiz will be sponsored by yours truly, Weldon Village website! If Ed gets her finger out there may well be a few bits to give away too! A couple of gins and she will agree to anything!

If you've never attended one of these nights it is always great fun. Take your own food (homemade cheesy sausage rolls are now a firm favourite on table 4) and drink, perhaps even a beer or 9! Not mentioning any names... (table 12!)
