Saint George’s Day

Happy Saint George's Day!

Saint George's Day can also be known as the Feast of Saint George.

It is the feast day of Saint George as celebrated by different Christian Churches and by the several nations, kingdoms, countries and cities of which Saint George is the patron saint including England, and regions of Portugal and Spain.

Saint George's Day is normally celebrated on 23rd April.

April 23rd is England's patron saint's anniversary of his death.

According to legend, he was a soldier in the Roman army who killed a dragon, and saved a princess.

On the day Saint George was visiting Silene, a princess had been chosen to be sacrificed. George killed the dragon and saved the princess, giving the people of Silene access to water and as thanks, they converted to Christianity.
