The classic steam locomotive Duchess of Sutherland No. 46233 will be passing through the local area this on Saturday 17th October.
In charge of the train will be steam locomotive Princess Coronation Class no 46233 Duchess of Sutherland.
The train is due to depart Kettering at 9.47am (please note the Time Travellers room on platform 1 run by Kettering Civic Society will NOT be open in accordance with current health guidelines and due to major infrastructure works at Kettering station)
The Duchess of Sutherland will then go via Corby at approximately 10am, to Gretton at 10.03, to Harringworth Viaduct at 10.05am, to Melton Mowbray at 10.45am and Syston Junction at 11am then onward to York.
David Fursdon a friend of Harringworth Viaduct has said "This is the first Steam railtour to pass by this way for many months following the Covid-19 pandemic. On previous visits to the area Duchess of Sutherland has pulled in big crowds. However on this occasion I trust onlookers will social distance and choose a location that is safe for them and others."
The timings given are subject to change so to avoid disappointment to you, you should arrive 30 minutes prior to the times stated.

Duchess of Sutherland was built in 1938 by the London Midland Scottish Railway at Crewe and was retired in 1964.
