The Yorkshireman Railtour was scheduled to pass through Northamptonshire, Rutland and Leicestershire on Saturday 17th October along with Princess Coronation class steam locomotive no. 46233 Duchess of Sutherland in charge of the train has now been CANCELLED, to the disappointment of many people who were looking forward to seeing this iconic Steam Locomotive pass locally on the journey to York.
The focus is now on the next steam railtour which has been planned for Saturday 28th November when Peppercorn class A1 60163 Tornado is booked to haul the York Yuletide Express via Kettering, Gretton, Harringworth Viaduct, Oakham, Melton Mowbray and Syston Junction.
The local times to see the train will be announced closer to the time.
Tornado was built in 2008 by the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust.
