Weldon C of E Primary School is a Christian school which has been a feature of the parish of Weldon for over one hundred years, although the building is not the original one, this can still be seen on the green in the centre of the village and has since been converted to houses. The school provides a values-based education built on love, compassion, respect and perseverance.
The aim is for children to leave them with an understanding of how Christian faith moulds, changes and shapes lives, along with the skills, values and attitudes that together will enable them to become successful citizens in their every changing world.
Many traditions of this village school are still alive and here you can watch a sports day as well as attend June Rose day (formerly May Day) where there is a King and Queen with their court, Maypole dancing, Morris dancing and all the children dressed in their best clothes and pretty dresses. Generations of the same families have all taken part in this tradition over the years.
Further information is available on the school website here.
